Becoming an Outdoor Super Senior
Welcome to the outdoors!
Our Goal
The Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation mission is to support and encourage people to lead more productive and satisfying lives, to experience and enhance their spirituality and wellbeing, and to preserve and celebrate nature (March 3, 2011).
This particular event focuses on those things for women who are 55+.
Details about the event
Come hang out with us in a welcoming, no-pressure outdoor space designed especially for women 55+ who are ready to try new things (or rediscover old favorites). Think camping, fishing, nature art, outdoor cooking, and other hands-on adventures—no prior “outdoorsy” badge required! Our BOSS Lady events usually happen in the spring, aka the perfect time to be outside without melting or freezing.
Important heads-up: there’s no fancy indoor lodging here. We’re tent camping—so bring your tent and your sense of adventure. Trailers and RVs will have to sit this one out but you are welcome to sleep in your car, truck or van! If hotels are your thing, we have several in the area we can recommend. Everyone pitches in with daily meals, because food tastes better when you make it together. Activities happen outdoors rain or shine (often under covered areas). We can move indoors if weather gets risky, but we strongly prefer Mother Nature as our backdrop.
There’s a small registration fee to help cover food and supplies. Bring your personal items, but don’t worry—we provide most of what you’ll need.
How registration works (read this part, it’s important):
Weekend registration will open (link is above) and is first come, first served. If you snag a spot, you’ll get an email the Sunday before the BOSS Lady weekend inviting you to sign up for classes—also first come, first served. You must have paid your registration fee (or arranged to pay cash) before you can sign up for classes. No exceptions, even if you’re really charming.
Refund policy (aka: life happens):
We totally get that emergencies pop up. We can refund your registration only if we’re able to fill your spot. Otherwise, your funds have already gone toward food and materials. Thanks for understanding and being awesome about it.
Pets:
We LOVE animals. Like, a lot. But please leave them at home for this event. No animals are allowed on the property. (If you have an ADA service dog, give us a call so we can chat.)
Alcohol:
We also love wine. However…no alcohol is allowed on the property. So yes, that means no wine around the campfire. We know. We’re sorry. 💔
