Nature and Needs PD

Friday, July 10, 8:30am-3:30pm
Audience- Educators
Fee- $0

This workshop provides educators with the tools necessary to differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of each individual.  Participants will learn how to incorporate students' interest to increase their motivation to learn.  Participants will leave with a complete lesson plan or a project that has helped them understand the process first-hand. *This provides the state required 6-hour GT update. Bring face masks and plan on social distancing.

Citizenship Merit Badge

Wednesday, July 15, 9:00am-noon
Audience- Boy Scouts
Fee- $5

As Scouts fulfill the requirements for this merit badge, they will learn how to become active citizens who are aware of and grateful for their liberties and rights. This class covers all requirements for Citizenship in the Nation except requirement numbers 2, 3, and 8.
All scouts registering for this class are required to bring a blue card with their unit leader's signature to start this class.  *Bring face masks and plan on social distancing.

Weather Merit Badge

Wednesday, July 15, 1:00pm-4:00pm
Audience- Boy Scouts
Fee- $5

Study the Earth’s atmosphere, learn about the water cycle, predict the weather and discuss extreme weather. This class covers all requirements for Weather except requirement 9 (partial done on site). All scouts registering for this class are required to bring a blue card with their unit leader's signature to start this class. There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of materials used in class.  *Bring face masks and plan on social distancing.

Outdoor Art Explorer Badge

Friday, July 17, 9:00am-12:00pm
Audience- Girl Scout Juniors
Fee- $5

Art and outdoors go hand in hand so let’s combine both and get a badge too! Let nature be your inspiration as you explore, create, and design different kinds of art. The entire badge for Outdoor Art Explorer will be earned during this session.

LAR Summer Camp

Wednesday-Friday, July 22-24, 9am-noon
Audience- 4th-6th graders
Fee- $20

This is the perfect opportunity to get your tween out of the house for a few hours!  Long Acres Ranch is hosting their first ever summer fun camp!  Join us for a few hours each morning for a variety of activities ranging from science experiments to archery.  Due to COVID-19, space is extremely limited to ensure the safety of the children and staff.  *Bring face masks and plan on social distancing.

Hunters Education

Saturday, July 25, 8:00am-5:30pm
Audience- Hunters born on or after September 2, 1971
Fee- $15 for lunch

This course is designed for novice or young hunters, ages 9 years and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. Courses are offered across the state year round and are taught by certified volunteer instructors. Pre-registration is required. Del Webb Fishing

1st and 3rd Tuesday each month starting in August, 9am-11am
Audience- ADULT Del Webb Residents ONLY
Fee- $0

THIS IS FOR ADULT DEL WEBB RESIDENTS ONLY.

Join us for a morning of fishing on the Brazos River (weather and river levels permitting)! We will provide all of the fishing equipment.  You provide the license, which can be obtained at Academy or Wal-Mart, and a lawn chair.  There is a small hike and a steep incline to traverse, so one must be able-bodied to get to the location where we will be fishing. *Bring face masks and plan on social distancing.
